ELNEC SUPPORTS NURSES DURING COVID-19

Posted about 4 years ago by Dena Clayton

Hello to all of our ELNEC "Family" of Trainers!

Our hearts are with all of you and we know that many of you are at the center of all the COVID care in your own settings and serving as support to so many colleagues in ICUs, EDs, nursing homes and communities.  All of the things we hold dear in ELNEC are now so needed in every setting as there is such a need for good communication, grief support, symptom management and every aspect of this field we have all been privileged to build. We know that as ELNEC Trainers you are serving as support for so many and we can feel your great efforts all around the country and the world.

We wanted to let you know that the ELNEC team has mobilized some resources to contribute to the efforts to support our colleagues on the front lines of care. We have created a new COVID section on the ELNEC website where we are making available, at no cost, a few of our modules (e.g. Final Hours, Grief) that we have adapted to make more relevant to COVID needs. We are adding some resources on communication and other links that might be helpful to our trainers.

Please visit the ELNEC websitehttps://www.aacnnursing.org/ELNEC/COVID-19   to see the new resources and please share with others.

Join our new ELNEC Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ELNEC/ to connect directly with one another.

We invite any ELNEC trainers who have stories of leadership or support to share them with us. We would like to feature ELNEC trainers leading through the COVID-19 pandemic on our social media and in our newsletter. Please email us at elnec@coh.org to share your story.

These early days of the pandemic have also given all of us pause to remember what matters most and we are incredibly grateful to all of you who have been a part of the work to make palliative care available to patients and families. There has never been a more important time for the work you do. Thank you for your care.

With love and gratitude,

The ELNEC Team
